If you are looking for a fun dinner activity where the food is delicious and it causes an interactive experience then Korean BBQ is the way to go.
This recipe is a fusion. It is easy to make and delicious.
Using a raclette grill can be a crowd-pleaser when you invite over for dinner or birthdays. It is a grilling machine where everyone can cook their meat together. With the raclette, you get spatulas that you can use to move your meat around. If you have another sort of grill at home that can be shared that will work as well.
You will need some rice, Ssamjang sauce, filet beef (which you will cook on the raclette), and romaine lettuce for your Korean BBQ at home.
Recipe for the Ssamjang sauce
1 tsp soya bean paste (lee Kum kKee is the soya bean paste I use)
two tsp red chili paste (Sambal Oelek Huy Fong Foods Inc)
1/8th piece onion chopped very fine
1 green chili chopped finely
Then add 1 tsp honey
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp garlic paste
1/8 tsp black pepper
Add some hot water to make it the right consistency.
The above sauce recipe is for 1-2 person so multiply the recipe for 4-5 people.
Recipe for the Filet beef (for 5 people)
2 pounds beef
4 teaspoons garlic paste
2 tsp soya sauce
2 flat teaspoon salt
1 tsp chilli flakes
1 tsp honey
Directions for Korean BBQ
After mixing everything into the beef put portions of it in beef for each of your guests. Divide the sauce as well into small bowls.
Each guest can cook their own meat on the raclette grill.
To create a lettuce wrap after the beef is cooked put it in the romaine lettuce. Add Ssamjang sauce and a bit of rice. There you have it an amazing delicious wrap.
If you are not interested in eating it as a wrap have some rice, beef, and the Ssamjang sauce, and that tastes delicious as well.
